Ora 3 Funky Cat Review

Long standing customer and EV guru Paul Cater took one of our Ex Service Loan cars for a spin last week and here's his full review:

Review of the Ora 3 Funky Cat

By Customer & EV Guru, Mr. Paul Cater

I want to extend a huge thank-you to the team for their time today and for giving me the opportunity to test drive the Ora 3 Funky Cat. As someone with significant EV experience—having owned a BMW i3, Kia EV6, and VW ID. Buzz—I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from this Chinese electric car. However, I can honestly say it was a very pleasant surprise!

Here’s a summary of my experience:

Interior Quality & Comfort

The Funky Cat’s interior feels premium, with excellent build quality and attention to detail throughout. One standout feature is the impressive amount of space in the rear seats—far more accommodating than something like the Mini Electric, which often feels cramped. Whether you’re a driver or passenger, the Funky Cat makes you feel right at home.

Ease of Use

One of the biggest highlights for me was how well-suited this car is to UK roads. It’s the perfect size for navigating narrow streets and tight corners, which made it feel both practical and confidence-inspiring. Parking is an absolute breeze thanks to its compact dimensions and array of cameras, which provide precise assistance.

Performance & Efficiency

For its size, the Funky Cat delivers fantastic efficiency. Even during motorway driving, it held up well, which isn’t always the case for smaller EVs. From my test drive, it seems entirely feasible to drive for two hours on the motorway and then top up with a quick 20-minute charge before hitting the road again. That’s a level of convenience that will work for most people’s lifestyles.

It's great that Livery Dole are an approved EVA service centre with fully qualified EV technicians available to look after my servicing needs.

Incredible Value

It’s impossible to ignore the pricing of the Funky Cat. Given its high-quality build, modern features, and performance, it offers incredible value for money. This is especially impressive compared to many rivals in the EV space, which can feel overpriced in comparison.

Final Thoughts

I’m genuinely excited about my purchase and can’t wait to take delivery of my new Ora 3 Funky Cat. As my first Chinese car, it has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I think it’s a sign of how much the EV market is evolving globally.

Thanks again to the team for their support and for making the process so enjoyable. If you’re considering an EV that’s practical, efficient, and affordable without compromising on quality, I’d highly recommend giving the Funky Cat a try!

Motachase Limited trading as Livery Dole is an appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allows Motachase Limited trading as Livery Dole to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only. We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a carefully selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. We act on behalf of the lender for this introduction and not as your agent. We are not impartial, and we are not an independent financial advisor. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next most suitable offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure a suitable finance agreement for you that enables you to achieve your financial objectives. If you purchase a vehicle, in the majority of cases, we will receive a commission from your lender for introducing you to them which is either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you purchase. Different lenders pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement; however, you will be contributing towards the commission paid to us with the interest collected on your repayments. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will inform you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receive this commission. The exact amount of commission that we will receive will be confirmed prior to you signing your finance agreement.  All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over.
